Plotwise is operated by Lewis Dostine ABN 70 692 953 941 (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can manage your data.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create a Plotwise account, we collect:

• Email address
• Full name
• Company name (optional)

Account authentication is handled through Supabase Auth, which stores your email and a securely hashed password.

2.2 Property Search Data

When you search for a property, we record:

• Search query (address)
• Property location (latitude/longitude)
• Zone and local government area
• Your email address (if logged in)

This data is stored in our search analytics to improve the service and understand usage patterns.

2.3 Chat Conversations

When you use the AI planning consultant, we store:

• Your messages and questions
• AI-generated responses
• The property context associated with each conversation

Conversations are stored in our database and linked to your account so you can return to them later.

2.4 Project Data

If you create projects, we store:

• Project name and property details
• Documents you create within the editor
• Feasibility reports generated for the project

2.5 Automatically Collected Information

We may collect standard technical information including:

• IP address
• Browser type and version
• Pages visited and features used
• Date and time of access

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the Plotwise service
• Generate AI-powered property assessments and chat responses
• Store your projects, conversations, and reports
• Analyse usage patterns to improve the service
• Communicate with you about the service (if you've opted in)
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

Plotwise uses the following third-party services that may process your data:

These providers have their own privacy policies. By using Plotwise, you acknowledge that some of your data may be processed in the United States by these providers.

4.1 AI Processing

When you use the AI chat, your property data and messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Anthropic's data retention and usage policies apply to this data. We do not use Anthropic's model training opt-in — your conversations are not used to train AI models.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Supabase (hosted infrastructure). We implement:

• Row Level Security (RLS) on all database tables — users can only access their own data
• Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit
• Supabase Auth for secure authentication with hashed passwords
• JWT-based session management

While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

• Account data is retained for as long as your account exists
• Search analytics are retained indefinitely for service improvement
• Conversations and projects are retained for as long as your account exists
• Automatically collected data is retained for up to 12 months

7. Your Rights

Under Australian privacy law, you have the right to:

• Access your personal information — you can view your data within the Plotwise interface, or request a copy by contacting us
• Correct inaccurate information — you can update your profile details at any time
• Request deletion — you can request that we delete your account and associated data by contacting us at hello@lewisdostine.com. We will action deletion requests within 30 days.
• Complain — if you believe we have breached the APPs, you can lodge a complaint with us or with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au

8. Cookies

Plotwise uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

If we implement analytics (such as Google Analytics), we will update this policy and provide appropriate notice.

9. Children's Privacy

Plotwise is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates the most recent revision.
